ACTER 2017 Field Symposium

The ACTER 2017 annual field symposium will be held in the Lachlan fold belt of eastern Australia. It will involve an introductory session on the tectonic evolution of the Lachlan fold belt and a six-day field excursion. More information can be found in the First and Second Circular.  Additional information will be published here as soon as it becomes available.

Field Symposium Dates

23 – 29 October 2017

Major targets of the field excursion include:

  • Tectonic evolution of the Lachlan Fold Belt (Cambrian- Permian)
  • Back-arc tectonic switching
  • Petrogenesis of I-, S- and A-type granites: how the concept started and evolved, relation to tectonic evolution of the Lachlan Orogen and significance to continental growth.

Registration:

Registration for the symposium is now open but be quick as there are only 50 places available.

Registration will close on 1st October 2017 (unless sold out prior).

Please Note: There are a number of options available during registration relating to the desired accommodation, a single/separate room or twin/shared room. There is also the option to include 2 nights of accommodation at the Holiday Inn – Sydney International Airport. The two nights included would be Sunday 22 October and Sunday 29 October, i.e. the night before the symposium begins and the night of our return to Sydney.

  • Basic fieldtrip (6 nights, single room) only : $1500
  • Basic fieldtrip (6 nights, twin share) with Sydney accomm (2 nights, twin share) : $1400
  • Basic fieldtrip (6 nights, twin share) with Sydney accomm (2 nights, single room) : $1600
  • Basic fieldtrip (6 nights, single room) with Sydney accomm (2 nights, twin share) : $1700
  • Basic fieldtrip (6 nights, single room) with Sydney accomm (2 nights, single room) : $1900

Cancellation Policy:

100% refund on registration fees for request made on or before 1 September 2017.

80% refunds will be made for cancellation requests received between 1 September 2017 and 1 October 2017 (not inclusive).

50% refunds will be made for cancellation requests received on and after 1 October 2017.
